Already have breeding data in a spreadsheet or third-party software? The BeePass smart import wizard automatically recognizes the main formats and guides you through 5 steps. Allow about 5 minutes for a complete import.

Known formats = automatic import

If your file is in Index Mellifera or BeeBreed format, column mapping is fully automatic. No manual configuration needed.

The 5 wizard steps

1. Source

Indicate the origin of your data:

• My breeding operation -- data from your own apiary
• Purchase -- data received when purchasing queens

2. Upload

Drag and drop your file or click to select it. Accepted formats: CSV, XLSX, XLS.

3. Detection

BeePass analyzes your file columns and identifies the format automatically. If the format is recognized (Mellifera, BeeBreed), you skip directly to step 5.

4. Mapping

For free-format files, map your columns to BeePass fields. Two options:

• Manual mapping -- associate each column yourself via dropdown menus
• AI suggestions -- the Llama 3.2 engine proposes intelligent mapping based on your column names and sampled data

AI is optional

AI suggestions are optional. You can always correct or ignore the proposals and map columns manually.

5. Import

BeePass validates your data, displays a pre-import report (errors, warnings) and proceeds with insertion. A final summary shows the number of queens and evaluations imported.

For larger volumes, run multiple successive imports.

Imported data

The import automatically creates:

• F0 queen records with all available information (name, breed, pedigree, insemination...)
• Associated evaluations (honey production, gentleness, vigor, hygienic test...)
• The link between queens and evaluations via the serial identifier

Each imported record is tagged with the import source to distinguish it from manual entries.
