Contact Book
The BeePass contact book is a hybrid directory that brings together your platform contacts and your external contacts in a unified interface. It allows you to centralise the details of your partner breeders, testers, suppliers, and other contacts.
BeePass Contacts and External Contacts
The contact book distinguishes two types of contacts:
- BeePass contacts: users registered on the platform. Their information (name, phone number, address, social media) is automatically synchronised from their profile. You cannot edit these fields manually as they remain under the user's control.
- External contacts: people not registered on BeePass. You enter and manage all their information freely.
When you add a BeePass contact, 16 fields are automatically populated from their profile: surname, first name, email, phone number, address, avatar, website, social media, and more. This data remains synchronised in real time.
Categories
Each contact is classified into one of the following six categories:
| Category | Usage |
|---|---|
| Breeder | Partner breeder-selectors |
| Tester | Daughter queen (F1) testers |
| Supplier | Beekeeping equipment suppliers |
| Veterinarian | Animal health professionals |
| Association | Organisations and groups |
| Other | Any other professional contact |
For BeePass contacts, the category is automatically inferred from the user's role on the platform (an account with the tester role will be classified as Tester).
Automatic Suggestions
BeePass suggests contacts based on your interactions:
- Users you have exchanged messages with via chat
- Testers who have completed evaluations on your queens
- Breeders linked to your selection network
These suggestions appear in a dedicated section. A single click adds the suggested contact to your book.
Search and Filters
The search bar allows you to filter your contacts by name, email, phone number, or company. The left sidebar displays categories with a contact count for each, enabling quick navigation.
You can mark your important contacts as favourites (star icon). Favourite contacts are accessible in one click via the dedicated filter.
Map View
The map view displays your contacts on a Google Maps map with geolocated markers. Each contact whose address has been provided appears on the map. Click on a marker to display the contact's information.
When you enter an address (manually or via Google Maps autocomplete), GPS coordinates are automatically calculated to position the contact on the map.
Detailed Contact Card
Each contact card is organised into three sections:
Personal Information
Surname, first name, email, phone number, company, category, and personal notes.
Headquarters and Address
Full postal address with map display. For BeePass contacts, the address comes from the user's profile.
Social Media
Links to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter profiles, and website. For BeePass contacts, this information is read from the profile and is not editable.
Quick Actions
From the contact list, several actions are available:
- Chat: directly opens a conversation with the contact (BeePass contacts only)
- Edit: opens the card in edit mode
- Delete: deletes the contact after confirmation
- Drag and drop: reorganise your contacts by category by dragging them
