Breeding queens (F0)

F0 queens are your breeders — artificially inseminated (SDI or MDI), they form the foundation of your genetic selection program. Each F0 queen has a complete record: identity, pedigree, evaluations, and offspring.

Creating an F0 queen

From the menu Queens > Add F0, fill out the creation form.

Tip

Fill in the dam external ID and the drone sire group ID — this information is essential for building a complete pedigree tree and computing reliable breeding values.

Life cycle

Each F0 queen has a life status reflecting her current use. Status changes are automatically recorded in the history.

Automatic history

Every status change is timestamped and recorded. You can view the complete history on the queen's detail page.

List and filters

The Queens > F0 List page displays all your queens with:

  • Search by name (instant search with debounce)
  • Filters by race, birth year, life status
  • Sorting by name, date, F1 count, evaluation count
  • Pagination configurable (10, 20, 50, or 100 per page)
  • Colour coding of the birth year according to the international beekeeping convention (blue, white, yellow, red, green)

Detail page

Click on a queen in the list to access her complete record, organized in 4 tabs:

  1. Information — Identity, race, insemination, breeder code, life status
  2. Evaluations — List of field evaluations (8 traits) with input form
  3. F1 Offspring — Table of daughters with counts and averages
  4. Pedigree — Interactive family tree over 3, 5, or 7 generations
Imported queens

Queens claimed from the BeePass Index (public database) appear in your list with a special marker. They are automatically linked when your breeder code matches the one in the index.
