BeeMatch
BeeMatch is an intelligent matching algorithm that suggests optimal pairings between breeders and testers, in order to maximize the quality of genetic evaluation.
How it works
The BeeMatch algorithm analyses several criteria to propose optimal pairings:
- Geographic diversity: prioritizes testers located in different environments from the breeder (altitude, climate, floral zone)
- Genetic complementarity: considers the breeds and lines being worked to avoid inbreeding
- Testing capacity: checks tester availability and the number of colonies they can host
Objective
The goal of BeeMatch is to maximize the reliability of estimated breeding values (EBV) by distributing F1 queens across the widest possible range of environments. The XGBoost environmental correction becomes more effective when data comes from geographically diverse contexts.
BeeMatch is currently under development (25%). This feature will be available with the Breeder Pro plan. Launch planned for 2026.
In the meantime
While BeeMatch is being developed, you can find testers manually:
- BeePass Index: browse the breeder directory by country to identify testers in other regions
- Chat: use the messaging system to contact breeders or testers directly
- Public profile: complete your profile so that testers can find you easily
Look for testers in different climatic regions from your own. A tester in the mountains and a tester in the lowlands will provide complementary data for genetic evaluation.
